Much Hadham Parish Council

The Much Hadham Parish Council met on Tuesday 8 July 2008 in Much Hadham Village Hall Green Room.  The meeting was attended by eight Parish Councillors, 13 members of the public, Cllr. Mike Carver and Cllr. Mary Bayes.  Apologies Cllr Bird.

Planning - the appeal regarding development at Palace House, Much Hadham will be heard at 10 a.m. on 27 August at East Herts office, Wallfields in Hertford.

Hopleys - Aubrey Barker outlined the background to his recent application for a premises licence.  Over the last 13 years, Aubrey Baker has organised events to raise money for charity.  Parish Council commended his efforts in raising £60,000 (£14,000 of which has gone to local charities). As Parish Council was not a statutory consul tee, they were not in a position to officially support the application.

Parish Path Partnership - remedial work to the bottom of Cox's Lane is scheduled in the current work programme.

Stansted - Government has yet to announce its decision on a second runway at Stansted.  Both passenger numbers and ATM figures are down this June compared on June 07.  The Chairman referred to the NATS consultation full details of this can be seen in a separate article published on this website.

Highways - Drainage work on the B1004 by The Old Nurseries as been completed on time. During the work temporary "Unsuitable for HGVs" signs had been placed on Kettle Green Lane and Maltings Lane.  To have these permanently Parish Co0uncil will need to submit a formal application to Hertfordshire County Council.  Cllr Mrs BAyes confirmed that she was still working for the introduction of a 20 mph speed limit outside the school.

Speed activated signs - A number of Parish Councils had raised funding through their Precepts to purchase such a sign and had received match funding - this course of action is open to the Parish Council to consider.

Burial Ground - drainage work is planned to take place week commencing 14 July.

Next meeting – to be held on Thursday 4 November 2008 at 7.30 p.m. in Much Hadham Village Hall Green Room - all welcome.
