Much Hadham Parish Council
The Annual Parish Council meeting took place on 20th May 2008.
The meeting was attended by all Parish Councillors, Cllr M Carver (EHC) and Cllr Mrs Mary Bayes (HCC) and 11 members of the public.

Martin Dillon and Sandra MacAdam were re-elected as Chair and Vice-Chair.

There would be a change of roles, Blaise Morris will now be dealing with Highways and Sandra McAdam will now be dealing with Public transport.

Planning - a Public Inquiry is to take place in August/September regarding a planning application for development at Palace House, Much Hadham.  Much Hadham Parish Council will be a Rule 6 party at the Inquiry.  This will allow MHPC to make representations and to attend and speak at the Inquiry.

Parish Paths - a grant of £3,000 has been awarded towards a Parish Map.

Harlow North - The East of England Regional Plan -12 May 2008  states that 500,000 new houses are planned for the East Anglia including Harlow North.   Development to be a minimum of  12,500 houses initially for the Harlow region, including Harlow North despite Government Inspector's recommendation that Harlow North not be included in 2006, highlighting sewerage and water problems.  It is quite likely that should housing construction begin, Harlow North may become an urban conurbation of up to 29,400 houses over the next 25 years. Stop Harlow North has been very active in analysing the Eof EP and believe there are grounds for a Judicial Review. As the cost is beyond the financial capabilities of the SHN group we are expecting our Local Authority to challenge the Plan once Legal Counsel opinion is available very shortly. To help, please add your name to our campaign on the Stop Harlow North Website, stopharlownorth.com in which we urge a Legal Challenge to help protect the environment of this part of East Herts .

Ropemakers are in the process of selling 2,400 acres of land around Eastwick and Gilston to Land Securities and Making Places. We are told that the deal is not yet done - Blaise Morris

Stansted - with passenger numbers down and cargo tonnage falling, it is hoped this will demonstrate that there is no need for a second runway.  Parishioners are still encouraged to write a letter of objection to Uttlesford District Council.

On 10 June, Martin Dillon wrote on behalf of Much Hadham Parish Council to the Terminal Control North Consultation commenting on the Airspace Change Proposal.  This letter can be found in an article published on this website on 25th June.

Highways - Concern was expressed regarding the condition of the highway near Great Hadham Golf Course and County Cllr Mrs Bayes stated that the County Council would undertake all work under the routine maintenance schedule.

Works to complete rapairs near Gingercress Farm are being delayed due to negotiations regarding land ownership.

Drainage works by the Old Nurseries scheduled to take place in June.

Parish Plan - a steering committee of eight has been formed to progress the Parish Plan.

Play Equipment - Following a meeting with Trevor Waldock of East Herts Council, the play equipment and Much Hadham Recreation ground will be independently inspected in July and a report will follow.    A "friends" group will be set up to fund raise for and co-ordinate the refurbishment of the recreation group play equipment.

Burial Ground - new rules are to be drafted and a security light is to installed at the burial ground.
