Much Hadham Parish Council met on 11 March 2008

This meeting was attended all nine parish councillors and 19 members of the public.  Apologies Cllr M Carver (EHC) and Cllr Mrs M Bayes (HCC)

Footpaths - Footpath 12 - fallen tree in Windmill Way with branches on the footpath to be reported to Hertfordshire County Council.

Footpath 25 Ash Meadow to the Ford - ownership to be investigated in order to arrange clearance.

Footpath 25 - the damaged dog bin is to be replaced.

Footpath 26 - Youths on bikes have been reported leaving footpath 26 (from Hadham Cross to Oudle Lane) onto Oudle Lane unsafely.  Cllr MacAdam to bring this to the School's attention.   It was suggested that a structure at the end of the footpath could overcome this problem.

Bridleway - bottom of Cox's Lane repair work to commence shortly.

Planning – recently various decisions have been made against the recommendations of the Parish Council.  Parish Council will be requesting an explanation from the Planning Authority for these decisions.

Stop Stansted – Cllr Martin Dillon reported that BAA had, on the day of the meeting, in advance of any decision being taken on the current planning application for expansion, made an application for a second runway.  BAA have been criticised recently by the Environmental Agency for giving an underestimate of the levels of pollution at Heathrow.  Cllr Dillon stated that the Planning Inquiry into the G2 application would start possibly in January 2009 and would take one year to conclude with a report from the Government expected around May 2010.  A possible decision would be taken in the lifetime of the next parliament.   The Conservative Party was against any development of a second runway at Stansted.

A general remark was made that should the go ahead be given in the future for the development of a second runway at Stansted, the potential when fully operational would be for an airport development well in excess of the present capacity at Heathrow.

Harlow North - Cllr Morris stated that a decision was expected shortly on the Harlow North development.

Highways – from 31 March for up to 6 weeks the B1004 will be closed near The Old Nurseries, Widford Road for repair works.

Hertfordshire Highways are to be notified that the "Much Hadham" village sign at the southern end of Widford Road has been stolen.

Village Hall - structural maintenance - this matter would be referred to a future meeting later in the year.

Play Equipment - recreation ground - Trevor Waldock of East Herts Council to meet with Cllr Naughton and Cllr Aranha to advise on play equipment.

Sports Association – Parish Council agreed to the quote for a replacement ladies toilet in the recreation ground pavilion.

Neighbourhood Watch - Parishioners are warned to check the ID of meter readers etc due to several bogus callers recently.

Burial Ground - following lengthy discussions, the Parish Council have decided to review the regulations relating to the Perry Green Burial Ground
