Much Hadham Parish Council met on Tuesday 4th September 2007

The Meeting was attended by seven parish Councillors and Cllr Mrs McAdams took the Chair and formally welcomed Cllr Francis Tate to the meeting.

Apologies - Cllr Bird, Cllr Dillon and East Herts Councillor Carver.

Stansted - Martin Dillon, Sandra McAdam, John Donavan and Kevin McMullen (St Elizabeth’s) Represented MHPC at the Stansted Expansion Inquiry on 5th September.   More details can be seen in the Article published on 2nd  August. 

Highways – it was confirmed that as the B1004 is a “B” road  an “Unsuitable for HGVs” sign cannot be erected.

Flooding – whilst the Environment Agency clear river beds as and when necessary, there is a responsibility on landowners to keep their land clear to avoid flooding.

Footpaths – several footpaths are to be cleared/strimmed including Cox Lane/New Barns Lane.  Footpath 32 Three Bridges is to be replaced.  Brands Lane – a road used as a public path - is to be resurfaced.
 
Village Hall – Parish Council agreed a £500 grant towards the cost of further refurbishment work at the Village Hall.   The next meeting of the Parish Council will consider whether to take responsibility for future exterior repair of the Village Hall.

Notice boards – research is in progress to replace the five Parish Noticeboards.

It is understood that the playground at the Recreation Ground could be updated with the help of a grant and this is being researched and a presentation will be made at the next meeting.

The bench at the B1004 end of Station Road is to be refurbished by the Parish Council.
