The Much Hadham Parish Council meeting on Tuesday 3 July 2007 took place in Much Hadham Village Hall Green Room. The meeting was attended by seven Councillors plus James Williams, 12 members of the public, Cllr. Mike Carver and Cllr. Mary Bayes. Frances Tate and James Williams were co-opted to serve as Parish Councillors Matters discussed:- The five Parish Notice boards were noted as being in poor condition and a costed report would be produced by Cllr Blaise Morris for the next meeting. Concerns were expressed regarding the excessive size of lorries travelling through the village, Cllr Sandra McAdam to make enquiries regarding weight restriction signs. Parish Council agreed to provide a letter of support to Much Hadham Village Hall Management Committee for their grant application to East Herts Council for further refurbishment work to the Hall. Parish Council were also asked to consider a £500 grant themselves. This would be considered at the next meeting. Cllr. Frances Tate to fill the Parish Council vacancy on the MH Village Hall Management Committee. Parish Pathways - Hertfordshire County Council have been requested to resurface Cox's Lane. It was reported that the Bridleway in Bourne Lane at its junction with FP 29 and also RUPP at Branch Lane are to be resurfaced. Also clearance of PF11 at Windmill Way was to be requested. (If you are unclear to which footpath we are referring, we will shortly be publishing a full list of footpaths and their locations.) Stansted - The Chairman stated the the Public Inquiry was proceeding and was expected to conclude early October. The Government's decision was expected early 2008. The Chairman had made an opening statement at the Inquiry. (Also see separate Article published on 2 August regarding Stansted.) Highways matters - Gingercress Farm - Cllr McAdam was pleased to report that the work had been satisfactorily completed 6 days earlier than planned. Remaining work will be carried out as soon as practically possible. Windmill Way lighting - a trial scheme will take place later in the year. Parish Design Statement - Cllr Compton and Cllr Williams were to give consideration to preparation of a Parish Design Statement. Under the new legislation "No smoking" signs will be placed in the bus shelters.
