we moved here two years ago and we were also worried about the plane noise.i would say that it is-at the moment-ok, with there being more flights in the summer with the occational louder one.we live in hadham ford and are under the flightpath depending on the wind direction but all in all moving here was the best thing we have done and getting away from the non stop bustle of london has given us time to chill out.have a look at the stop stansted expansion website and the bAA one to give you a better idea of what the future may hold.good luck
